The fridge magnet brochure which is being distributed with new wheelie bins

Rubbish collection day may change for a “very small number” of properties who have received one of the new red-top wheelie bins, South Burnett Regional Council said today.

JJ Richards & Sons will begin their new region-wide contract to collect South Burnett rubbish on June 30.

“The waste collection day may change for a very small number of properties so please check the label on the side of your new waste bin to confirm what your waste collection day will be,” a Council spokesman said.

Delivery of the new wheelie bins began on Monday in Kingaroy, and will continue next week in Nanango and Blackbutt.

Bins will not be replaced in other parts of the South Burnett region at present because they are not as old.

“If your property has been identified for a new waste bin, an information pack will also be delivered along with the waste bin explaining its use and what to do with your old waste bin,” the spokesman said.

“All residents will also receive a fridge magnet brochure, during this initial start-up phase of the new waste collection contract, which provides some information about waste bin placement and general waste management.

“Council requests residents to be patient during the start of this new contract.

“Should residents have any problems or concerns about their waste collection service please do not hesitate to contact Council’s Customer Service on (07) 4189-9100 or drop in to one of the Council’s regional offices.”
