Yarraman’s Wild Horse FM is “part of the fabric that holds Yarraman together” according to Toowoomba mayor Paul Antonio who dropped into the station on Sunday for a special graduation ceremony.

Praising the work of the small team of volunteers, he said the community radio station was unlike any other in the Toowoomba Regional Council area.

Mayor Antonio presented graduation certificates to a group of announcers who successfully completed a six-month Certificate III course in Media with Community Media Training.

He also presented a special “thank you” gift to retiring volunteer Leah Russell, 17, who is heading off to Sydney to further her media career.

“Leah, you have your career path mapped out. Good luck! We’re all very proud of you. Congratulations,” Mayor Antonio said.
