A free webinar on heart health for women will be held at Kingaroy Hospital on Wednesday, June 11 as part of the Heart Foundation’s Go Red For Women campaign.
Heart disease is the single biggest killer of Australian women, and women are three times more likely to die of it than of breast cancer.
Darling Downs South West Queensland Medicare Local (DDSWQML) will host the webinar to encourage women to take more notice of their heart health.
“The Heart Foundation is encouraging women to Go Red this June to raise money for heart disease research, and we’re pleased to be offering the people of Kingaroy the chance to access this webinar,” DDSWQML CEO Andrew Harvey said.
The webinar will feature speakers talking about the importance of staying mentally healthy, and why looking after your mental well being is important for your heart.
Other speakers will also discuss mindful eating and how to make and savour delicious, healthy foods; and how to recognise the warning signs of a heart attack.
The webinar will be held between 11:00am and 12:30pm at the QRME Training Room at the hospital.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with other women.
The webinar is completely free, and morning tea will be provided.
