South Burnett Saints brought the Swans’ hopes of a final’s berth back to ground

The South Burnett Saints are now in second spot on the AFL Darling Downs Division 2 ladder after notching up their third consecutive win.

The Saints took on Dalby in a closely fought match on Saturday at Lyle Vidler Oval.

The Swans have only had one win so far season but lifted for the encounter in Kingaroy.

However, the home team managed to be just ahead at every change and withstood a strong Swans’ fightback in the third quarter to finish 17.16 (118) to 12.10 (82).

Ty Snow starred for the South Burnett, ending the game with an impressive five goals.

Other Saints’ goalkickers were Brad Edwards (3), Brad Pressnell (3), Thomas Fowler (2), Paul Judge, Braeden Snow, Adam Bowater and Paul Pressnell.

The Saints will be back on the road next weekend, playing the Warwick Redbacks at Reddies Oval in Warwick on Sunday at 12:30pm.
