Former Cherbourg girl – and now St Saviour’s College student – Shaleise Law has been selected for the All Australian Youth Girls side after turning out for Woomeras at the Under 18 AFL youth girls Nationals held in Canberra recently.

Shaleise was selected in the forward pocket after she dominated the youth girls Division 2 competition.

Carnival highlights included her match-winning goal against the Northern Territory/Tasmania side which propelled the Woomeras into the Division 2 final.

Overall, Woomeras finished the carnival as Division 2 champions, defeating host state NSW/ACT in the final.

Law becomes the first footballer on the Darling Downs to be selected in an All-Australian side in the Australian Football League talent program.

Shaleise’s 2014 highlights include:

  • Under 18 Queensland kick-start youth girls team
  • Under 18 Indigenous Woomeras youth girls team
  • Under 16 Queensland schoolgirls team
  • Under 16 Darling Downs schoolgirls team
  • Under 18 All Australian Youth Girls side
