Taabinga State School’s long-awaited flashing warning lights are finally a reality.

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington and school principal Susan Beatty inspected the finished project this afternoon.

The lights highlight the 40km/h school zone on Walter Road (the D’Aguilar Highway) and will hopefully remind motorists along the strip to slow down – avoiding heavy fines and helping to keep Taabinga students safer.

The lights are solar-powered and switch on and off automatically.

The school zone has long been identified as risky by local police.

The installation of the lights was an election promise by Mrs Frecklington.
