Former Test cricketer Ian Healy

May 9, 2014

Former Australian Test cricketer Ian Healy will be the special guest speaker at the next Mayor’s Community Charity Breakfast.

“Heals”, as he was affectionately known, played for both Queensland and Australia and broke wicketkeeper Rod Marsh’s world record for dismissals.

He was not only a specialist behind the wickets, but also very handy with a bat … during his Test career he scored 22 half-centuries and four centuries, including a highest score of 161 n/o  against the West Indies in 1996.

Tickets for the breakfast, which will be held from 6:30am on May 22 at the Wondai RSL, went on sale today.

Cost is $30 per person.

RSVP to Bronwyn Barry on (07) 4189-9155 by Thursday, May 15.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Queensland Cancer Council’s Relay For Life fundraiser.
