Murgon futsal player Clare Adcock is back at home after a triumphant tour of the United Kingdom with the Australian U14 Girls futsal team.
Clare, a Year 9 student at St Mary’s Catholic College in Kingaroy, was invited to play for Australia after competing at the 2013 National School Titles in Sydney last September.
The team returned home last weekend undefeated after playing eight games in England and Scotland.
It was Clare’s first trip overseas and she enjoyed the experience.
“It was very different to Australia but I really liked it,” she said.
“But it was very cold.”
She didn’t know any of her 11 teammates so there was also plenty of training involved from the team coaches.
“I learned lots,” she said.
Clare has now set her sights on being selected to play in Brazil in a couple of years.
