A teenage boy was airlifted from Wondai Airport last night in a serious condition after falling from the back of a ute.

An RACQ CareFlight Rescue spokesman said the teenager suffered suspected head, shoulder and pelvic injuries after falling from a moving ute on a rural property near Wondai.

Emergency services transported the youth via QAS road ambulance to Wondai Airport where the Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter landed about 9:00pm.

CareFlight’s medical crew, including a Critical Care Doctor and Intensive Care Flight Paramedic, treated the young man before transferring him to Nambour General Hospital in a serious condition.
