The Brisbane Valley Highway re-opened about 6:30am today after an overnight crash involving a cattle truck near Harlin blocked the road for more than 12 hours.
A police spokesman said the truck and a car collided about 6:45pm last night.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries but the two female occupants of the car, a 51-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were both taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital – one by road ambulance and one by medevac chopper.
The teenager is believed to have suffered serious head injuries, while the older woman suffered minor injuries.
Police from the Esk and Toogoolawah stations were at the scene most of the night.
Injured cattle, trapped in the overturned vehicle, had to be euthanased at the crash site.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
