Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington is urging local residents to put forward suggestions about ways the State Government could slash red tape.

“In my role as Assistant Minister for Regulatory Reform, I’m encouraging businesses and residents in the Nanango Electorate to have their say and make suggestions on red tape cutting opportunities,” she said.

“Our latest ‘Red Tape Report’ card shows our government is on track to delivery on its commitment to reduce red tape by 20 per cent over six years and I’m extremely proud to be a part of the team that’s making a real difference for our businesses and communities.

“We have already started work on more than 500 reforms, 350 of which have already been implemented and have successfully removed over 9000 regulatory requirements imposed on business by the former Labor Government.

“In the last two years we’ve seen many reforms that have already achieved measurable results such as scrapping the waste levy, simpler application and assessment processes for developers, and time and cost-saving improvements for tourism operators.

“While considerable progress has been made in the fight against red tape, much more needs to be done, that’s why I’m urging you to share their experiences and ideas for reducing red tape.”

Mrs Frecklington said residents could download a Red Tape Feedback form from her website (117kb PDF), phone her office on (07) 4162-1381 or contact the Office of Best Practice Regulation on (07) 3222-0555 or by email
