Upgrades to the South Burnett Private Hospital in Kingaroy will begin soon, funded jointly by the South Burnett Regional Council, Kingaroy Rotary and the Federal Government.
The capital works will include the renovation of A and B Wing wards, renovation of bathrooms in A Wing, fire panel and fire detector upgrades and electrical rewiring in A Wing, and replacement of the roof.
“Council has appointed a Project Manager to assist with the preparation and delivery of this project,” South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said.
“It will employ over 10 different local suppliers, including electricians, plumbers, roofers, painters, plasterers and builders.
“The internal renovations are scheduled to commence this week and include the replacement of vanity units, wardrobes and bed head panels. The roof replacement will also commence at a similar time with electrical rewiring and an upgrade to fire detectors and the fire panel.
“This will result in A Wing being temporarily closed.”
