At one stage it was feared a ball to assist Murgon mum Shona Muckert mightn’t go ahead … but taking a look at the packed Murgon Town Hall on Saturday night, it was clear there were a lot of people in the local community who were going to make sure that it did.
The charity ball was part of a community campaign to raise funds for Shona, who lost both her legs in a motor vehicle accident almost 10 years ago.
She is hoping to undergo specialised osseointegration surgery which will help her walk again.
The black tie event included an auction, a raffle which featured a painting donated by Hivesville artist Shannus O’Sullivan, a three-course meal and live music from “Bad Habits”.
The theme, naturally enough, was “legs”, and there were “leg” centrepieces on every table as well as a display of bestockinged legs across the front of the town hall stage.
