Toowoomba Regional Council Customer Service Centres and offices will be closed for the Royal Toowoomba Show holiday on Thursday.
However the show holiday will not affect kerbside rubbish collections and the main Council service number 13-18-72 will be manned from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
TRC Customer Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Anne Glasheen said the Toowoomba Show holiday would apply across the region, with the exception of Yarraman, Upper Yarraman and Cooyar which are aligned to the Brisbane Exhibition holiday.
“Council will continue with limited services with essential services such as rubbish collection still operating, but the general workforce will shut down for the day,” Cr Glasheen said.
“Our offices will close, but the Customer Service Call Centre and 13-18-72 number will remain operational with a skeleton staff on call.
“Employees will be on duty to work on priority projects, perform ongoing maintenance or deal with essential and emergency situations. Council’s after-hours emergency number will also remain operational.”
