Warriors celebrate their B Grade Premiership win

Warriors put their stamp on the 2014 season with a strong win over Murgon Diggers in the B Grade South Burnett Cricket Association Grand Final played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy last Saturday.

A good crowd enjoyed an entertaining match which was much closer than the final scores indicated.

Shane Gray (47) and Paul Clegg (40) led the way with the bat for Warriors, who won the toss and batted first.

Steve Heness (23) and Hayden Wieck (16) also added to the final total of 182.

Nathan Nixon (3/33 off eight overs) and Shane Sippel (1/11 off four overs) were the best of the Diggers’ bowlers.

In reply, Diggers were dismissed for 127 in the 36th over.

Opener Jeff Rose finished not out 37.  Alan Woodall (33) was the next best of the Diggers’ batters.

Warriors’ bowlers Stewart Lavaring  (3/11 off six overs), Matt Nesbitt (3/18 off six overs) and Dane Bloomfield (2/36 off seven overs) shared the wickets.
