Five local teams went to the Sunshine Coast Regional Touch Footy Carnival on Saturday, March 1.

They were the U10 Boys, U10 Girls, U12 Girls, a mixed U14 boys team that played in the U14 Boys and a mixed U16 boys team that played in the U16 Boys.

Both the U10s made the Grand Finals after going through the round games without being beaten.

After playing hard, both teams were runners up. What a great effort!

The U12 girls made the quarter finals, and the two mixed teams both made the semi-finals of the boys’ divisions.

Congratulations go to Daniel Favier, Jack Hourn, Kaitlin Elliot and Georgia Toohey who were all selected in the train-on squads for their respective U16 Sunshine Coast Representative teams; and to Lee who was upgraded to Level 2 referee due to his performance at the carnival.

Thanks must also go to all the coaches, managers and players for a great effort over the day, as well as Leesa for her time in being the overall organiser for Kingaroy, as well as the referees who turned up for our teams and allowed them to take part.

We have a busy junior season coming up, so there will be a meeting on March 23 at the clubhouse for all coaches and managers wanting to go to any of the future carnivals in the lead-up to the State Cup in July.
