The South Burnett Saints will be back in action on March 30

AFL Darling Downs today released the draw for 2014 Darling Downs Australian Rules season.

The restructured competition – with eight teams in both Division 1 and 2 – will begin on March 28 with the final home and away round to be played on August 23.

The 2014 season will consist of 19 rounds played over 22 weeks.

Division 1 consists of Coolaroo, Goondiwindi, Highfields, Lockyer Valley, South Toowoomba, Toowoomba, University and Warwick.

Division 2  – which includes the South Burnett Saints – will expand to eight teams: Chinchilla, Coolaroo, Dalby, Highfields, South Burnett, South Toowoomba, Warwick & University. The Marge Shaw Trophy – awarded to the Division 2 best and fairest player – will also return.

The South Burnett Saints’ first game will be against South Toowoomba at Rockville Oval in Toowoomba on Sunday, March 30.

The team’s first home game will be held on Saturday, April 26, at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.

There will be six teams in the Women’s competition: Coolaroo, Goondiwindi, Lockyer Valley, South Toowoomba, Warwick and University.

McDonald’s Cup Under 16s: Coolaroo, Dalby, Highfields, Lockyer Valley, South Toowoomba, Toowoomba, Warwick and University

McDonald’s Shield Under 14s: Coolaroo, Dalby, Goondiwindi, Highfields, Lockyer Valley, South Burnett, South Toowoomba, Toowoomba, Warwick and University

McDonald’s Under 12s: Chinchilla, Coolaroo, Dalby, Goondiwindi, Highfields, Lockyer Valley, South Toowoomba, Toowoomba, Warwick and niversity
