Addison Cooke, 4; Carl Braithwaite, from Kingaroy; and Shona Muckert at the “shindig”

March 3, 2014

Goomeri threw its weight behind Murgon mum Shona Muckert’s fund-raising effort on Saturday night with a special “shindig” at the Hall of Memory.

The “Shindig For Shona” helped to raise some more funds to allow dual amputee Shona Muckert to have specialised surgery which will enable her to walk again.

The country dance featured live music, raffles, finger foods and a licensed bar.

The next fundraising effort in aid of Shona will be a Charity Ball, organised by the South Burnett PCYC, which will be held from 6:00pm on March 29 at the PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon.

The black tie event will include a monster auction, a three-course meal and live music from “Bad Habits”.

Tickets, which are $90, are available from the PCYC on (07) 4168-1889 or by email
