A 32-year-old man has suffered serious injuries in a single vehicle road crash on the Wide Bay Highway near Goomeri this morning.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter landed on the highway so its flight doctor and intensive care paramedics could treat the man, who had suffered multi-trauma injuries.

The incident occurred about four kilometres east of Goomeri.

A CareFlight spokesman said the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle some time before 7:00am, causing it to veer off the road.

The car came to rest when it struck a tree on its passenger side.

The man was airlifted to Royal Brisbane Hospital in a stable condition.
