The burned out shell of the house on Pauls Parade at Ellesmere

March 3, 2014

Friends of the family left homeless by a house fire at Ellesmere on February 22 have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the local community.

The Kumbia QCWA has provided vouchers and after an appeal on Facebook, the family received donations of clothing.

But it is the generosity of local businesses that has really astounded one friend, who asked not to be named.

She contacted a couple of businesses hoping they may be able to assist and was bowled over by the results.

She would like to thank the following businesses who have helped:

  • We Do it For You Cleaning Service – Clothing and toys
  • Toyworld – Toys
  • Burtons Shoes – Shoes
  • Kingaroy Pharmacy – Personal hygiene products
  • Coppards – High school uniforms
  • The Mad Gamer – Xbox
  • Pharmacy Essentials – Personal hygiene products
  • Temptations Lingerie – Underwear
  • Day’s Sports – Skateboard
  • Uniform Zone – Clothing
  • Office Central – Stationery needs
  • Kingston’s Office National – Stationery needs
  • Lucky Charm Newsagency – Stationery needs
  • Andersons Produce – Pet food
