The D’Aguilar Highway was blocked for five hours last night after a semi-trailer carrying cattle overturned between Elouera Drive and Berlin Road about 8:30pm.
The truck was carrying 20 cattle which spilled onto the highway. One of the beasts was killed in the crash and two were badly injured and had to be destroyed.
The incident occurred about five kilometres south of Nanango, heading towards Yarraman.
SES volunteers were called to assist with diverting traffic around the site using back roads.
The truck driver, a 46-year-old Ipswich man, was transported to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries but has since been released.
Investigations into the crash are continuing.

Kingaroy Police, firefighters and Ergon Energy were called to a unit in Thelma Street on Thursday about 6:00pm after reports of a fire.
Emergency personnel found a young man who had been cooking chips in oil when the oil caught alight. He had managed to extinguish the fire before help arrived and there was no real damage to the premises. No one was injured.

Police have arrested and charged two men who were allegedly arguing with staff at a Kingaroy hotel on Thursday night about 10:00pm.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said the two men were heavily intoxicated.
A 26-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with public nuisance, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing a drug utensil and possessing a knife in a public place.
A 45-year-old Kingaroy was charged with public nuisance.
