The Scratchy Tree which was raffled at the Proston Christmas Carnival on December 21 was won by Ann Harold. We thank everyone who supported these raffles.
At present we are selling tickets for our latest raffle:
- 1st – Hand embroidered cot quilt
- 2nd – Embroidered towels
This raffle will be drawn at the Proston Show on March 8.
Our Country of Study this year is Vietnam, so we are busy preparing our presentation of this country.
At our first Craft Day, on Monday February 10, we worked on decorating calico panels ready to attach and sew into calico carry bags. We had tons of fun doing this and I’m sure that these bags will have a multitude of valuable uses.
With the Proston Show looming, all members are encouraged to enter their handiwork; as well as help to assemble our pavilion display. We will again have a stall on Show Day.
Charity Craft items are ready for delivery or soon will be. The coffers of craft items for sale are well stocked, so stay tuned for advice on forthcoming stalls.
Our contribution to “5000 Poppies: A Tribute of Respect and Remembrance” for display in Melbourne on Anzac Day 2015 is progressing well. To date we have contributed approximately 150 crocheted poppies.
Let’s hope that this year we can make a difference in our community and have heaps of fun at the same time.

We would love to tell you what we are all about, and maybe welcome you as a new member.
The stigma that CWA is just for “old ducks” is far from true, as we have a diverse agenda and would love to “Bridge the Gap” by having the input of younger members.
Our rooms are well appointed with up-to-date kitchen facilities and wheelchair friendly access and toilet. This makes it a great venue for many community functions.
southburnett.com.au welcomes reports from community groups about their activities. We invite any interested group to submit their reports to us by emailing them to news@southburnett.com.au
Reports should be written in Microsoft Word and any photographs submitted should be high-resolution and in .JPG format. Please also include a contact phone number in case we need to clarify anything with you. We reserve the right to edit reports. |
