Multiple fire crews have been called to a vegetation fire burning (5:15pm) near the Burnett Highway at Moffatdale.
An Emergency Services spokesman said there were no properties under threat but the fire is causing a large amount of smoke.
Residents with respiratory illnesses have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed and medication close by.
Motorists are asked to drive with caution and be aware of fire crews working in the area.
