February 3, 2014

The South Burnett cricket competition resumed on Saturday after a break for the Australia Day weekend.

In A Grade, it’s back to two-day rounds for the next few weekends.

Kingaroy RSL took on Warriors at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy.

Warriors batted first and were all out for 141 off 62 overs.  Dan O’Connor top scored with 41.

RSL bowlers Wayne Kelly, Darren Geiger and Anthony Eden each took two wickets.

At the close of play, RSL was 5/114 with star batsman Anthony Eden 42 n/o.

Play will resume next Saturday with RSL in a commanding position.

RSL supporters would also be happy with their performance in B Grade against Barambah.

Batsman Brian Walters led the way hitting 68 of Kingaroy RSL’s 138 runs. In reply, Barambah were all out for 104.

RSL’s Peter Hourn (four wickets) and Brian Walters (three wickets) did the damage.
