Three people have been injured in a two-car crash at the corner of the Bunya Highway and Chinchilla-Wondai Road at Tingoora about 4:15pm this evening.

A 28-year-old male from one vehicle has been transported to Kingaroy Hospital by ambulance.

Two people – a 77-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man – are being prepared to be airlifted from the scene.

A police spokesman said they were believed to have non life-threatening injuries.

There are two RACQ CareFlight helicopters on the ground near the incident and traffic is currently backed up in the area (6:00pm).

UPDATE 10:00pm: RACQ CareFlight helicopters from Maroochydore and Toowoomba airlifted the two patients to Brisbane.
