The QCWA is passing on traditional skills to a younger generation at a new monthly craft group in Kingaroy.

The group is made up of young girls aged 10 years and older who learn useful skills such as sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking under the supervision of QCWA members from local branches including Kingaroy, the Kingaroy Twilight group, Kumbia and Elgin Vale.

The group meets on the third Saturday of every month at the QCWA Rooms in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy.

It met for the first time for 2014 on Saturday, with the girls working on Valentine hearts.

There’s a small charge each day to cover the cost of goods used but all young girls are invited to come along.
