Miners lose in a Paper / Scissors / Rock session to Touch N Go … why didn’t I do a rock?!

Domino’s Dash For Cash

Well it has been a bit of time since December 9 when the Domino’s  Dash was held and the cash sliced and handed out to the winners.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas holiday and Boxing Day was not too much of a recovery day.

Congratulations to the teams that took out the cash in the dash!

  • Open was won by HBWBs over Write Offs;  IGA Blue won the Open Plate Final
  • Mixed A/B was won by IGA Red over Expressos; Taabinga won the Plate Final
  • Mixed C/D was won by St Mary’s over IGA Maroon; Child’s Play won the Plate Final.

From feedback received so far, it seems that everyone enjoyed the night and there was even several cases of paper, scissors rock used to decide drawn games.

We thank the refs and the helpers in the shed, especially Katy who kept the score sheets up to date,  for a great night.

Also thanks to Paul Tarlinton for his great photos of grand final night, the Domino’s Dash for Cash and Season Presentation.

We again thank our sponsors Domino’s for their support of this evening and we hope they will want to stay aboard next year (so everyone buy a pizza sometime over the holidays!)

Happy New Year

With the 2014 season not far away here a few dates to keep in mind:

  • January 19 – This Sunday is the first afternoon of club activities /games for any teams or players who feel like a run or who would like to start learning some more about the game. These afternoons are relaxed and aimed to be fun and informative and anyone, old or new, is welcome. Meet at TJ O’Neill Oval at 4:00pm. For more details call 0427-237-071.
  • February 3 – Junior Touch sign on starts on this Monday at 5:00pm with games and organising of teams
  • February 3 – Senior sign on from 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • February 10 – Junior coaching and games begin (new players still accepted)
  • February 10 – Senior grading games will begin at 6:00pm (more nominations will be accepted)

Junior rep teams will have to get busy as we only have a few weeks to our first carnival on the first weekend in March. Coaches and players need to start planning now as training must start straight away.

We have been hard at work with our sponsors, Dino’s Bobcat, top-dressing the No 3 field so we hope the rains will come and we will have a smoother surface to start the new season on. Many thanks to Barney and his bobcat for his support on the fields.

Many thanks to Domino’s Pizza for their support with the Dash for Cash.
Many thanks to our referees’ sponsor Alan Christensen and AT Consulting.
Many thanks to Pressed Purity for their assistance with our new tents.

So until January 19, have a safe and happy start to 2014 from all at the KTA.

The ultimate resolution …

We cannot finish a year without looking towards the next.  All those New Year’s resolutions – get fit, have more fun, lose weight, meet new people, do something with the family, join a club, see more of Queensland, have a night out, feel the grass under my feet …

They can all be rolled into one: Join a touch team at KTA and play this great game!
