Warriors came out on top in a closely fought match against Kumbia Rattlers in the B Grade game played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.

Paul Clegg led the way with the bat for Warriors, top-scoring with 53 runs. Allan Christensen (36) and Shane Gray (16) also helped Warriors on their way to 152.

In reply, the Rattlers fell short by a boundary, all out for 146.

Top scorer was Ryan Kelly (43) with Clayton Crawford (36) and Russell Holland (27) also added to the target.

Dayne Somers was the best of the Kumbia bowlers, taking 3/27 off seven overs.

Warriors’ Stuart Lavaring also finished with three wickets: 3/18 off six overs.

Both the A Grade and B Grade South Burnett cricket competitions are now taking a break over Christmas / New Year.

Games will resume on January 11:

  • A Grade – Warriors v RSL, Wondai v Crusaders (Nanango bye)
  • B Grade – Warriors v RSL, Barambah v Diggers, Kumbia v Colts
