Shane Gray was just three runs shy of a century for Warriors in their B Grade match at the KSS grounds

Warriors were too strong for Murgon Colts in their B Grade match played at Kingaroy State School on Saturday.

Shane Gray was dominant at the wicket, knocking a string of fours on his way to 97.

Hayden Wieck (52) and Stuart Lavaring (47) helped Warriors to their final score of 266.

Best of the Colts’ bowlers were Jamie Curran (1/10) and Nev Kratzmann (1/22) off five overs.

In reply, Colts were  bowled out for 161.

Best of the Warriors’ bowlers were Ian Haak, who took 4/16 off just four overs.

Peter Sorensen (2/30) and Shaun Hauritz (1/10) also made a dent in the Colts’ line-up.

A Grade – Warriors v Nanango (Day 1 of a two-day match)

Warriors are 5/133 at the close of play on the first day of their match against the Nanango Scorpions.

Tim Linnane (2) and Cam Groer (0) are not out going in to Day 2 which will be played next Saturday at Lyle Vider Oval in Kingaroy.

Nanango batted first and were all out for 298 off 50 overs.

Michael “Freddy” Davies topscored with 70, while Mitch Olzard hit a handy 45.

Best of the Warriors’ bowlers was Luke Smith who took 3/38 off six overs, and Andrew Askin (2/39 off eight overs).

Best of the Warriors’ batsmen so far are Andrew Askin (47) and Dan O’Connor (36).

For Nanango, Brendan Weil has taken 2/23 off eight overs, and Jay Steinhardt 1/2 off two overs.
