The RACQ CareFlight helicopter rescue team has flown to the aid of a rider who crashed while taking a jump at Motocross Mountain, Cooyar, this morning.

The 30-year-old Ipswich man told medical personnel he was taking his “last jump of the day” when he crashed his motocross bike, injuring his ankle.

The Sunshine Coast-based helicopter flew to the scene where the flight paramedic and CareFlight doctor treated the man for a fracture.

He was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.
