It’s not every day that a Queensland team plays in the South Burnett in any sport, but that’s what’s going to be happening on November 23 when the Queensland Patriots – the Queensland Open Men’s State softball team – comes to Nanango.

The Patriots are coming as part of  the Burnett Softball Festival which will be held on Saturday. November 23, from 9:00am–3:00pm at the Nanango sporting fields in Burnett Street.

The event will feature a mixed OzPitch format,- a modified social competition for adults and teenagers that caters for all skill levels, and is open to all those interested aged 14 years and up, at a cost of $20.00 per person.

The Patriots will arrive at 11:00am to conduct a clinic with the local juniors from the South Burnett, before some of the South Burnett’s best sportsmen from various team sports – including basketball, cricket, AFL and rugby league – come together to take on the Patriots in a friendly exhibition match.

The 16 athletes from the Patriots will then take part in a team training session in the afternoon.

The Patriots are Queensland’s premier men’s softball team, consisting of the State’s most talented players who have been selected from all around Queensland, including a number of players who have represented Australia at international tournaments.
