A 54-year-old driver was lucky to escape serious injury when he ran off the Burnett Highway this morning and rolled his Toyota HiLux after apparently falling asleep at the wheel.
The incident occurred between 5:00-5:30am about 400m south of the intersection of the highway with Planted Creek Road at Tansey.
A police spokesman said the vehicle ran down an embankment and ended up lying on its passenger side.
The male driver, from Westbrook, has been issued with a notice to appear in court on a charge of driving without due care and attention.
