This year’s Kingaroy Christmas Carols organising committee will break tradition and NOT be asking businesses for sponsorship and donations.

“The organising committee appreciates that our businesses have had a tough year so we won’t be door-knocking for support this year,” Kingaroy and District Ministries Association committee member Felicity Cavill said.

“The theme for this year’s carols is ‘Blessed to be a Blessing’.

“We have been blessed in the past with businesses and individuals supporting the event and we thank them for their previous year’s sponsorship.

“If there are businesses that would still like to support the carols they are most welcome to. We just won’t be door-knocking. They have an option if they wish.”

Committee member Paul Morgan said there was a cost to put the event on and if people attending wanted to support it, that would also be great.

“There will be collections on the night throughout the crowds to help cover costs,” he said.

“The Highway Christian Church Riders will be collecting on the night.

“The committee thanks them for their support in collecting donations.

“We are hoping that these donations will cover costs and if there are any finances left over this will be donated to our local charities.”

The Kingaroy Christmas Carols have been running for 14 years.

“The organising committee are all volunteers who are passionate about sharing the biblical story of Christmas,” Mrs Cavill said.

“This year we will again have a live nativity scene. This was really popular last year. We have also organised more food stalls to make sure there is plenty for those attending.”
