Lucky escape … David Hosking hits just wide of the Crusaders’ fielder in a catching position

The A Grade match between Crusaders and Kingaroy RSL, played at Lyle Vidler Oval, came down to the last ball on Saturday.

Murgon made 217 with Lehman Brunjes top-scoring with 87.

Best of the Kingaroy bowlers was Tony Dugdell who took five wickets (5/37).

Kingaroy RSL, which was playing with just 10 men, hit the winning runs off the last ball.

David Hosking finished with 64 n/o.

Crusaders’ bowler James McUtcher took 4/33.

In the B Grade match between RSL and Colts, RSL batted first and only made 120.

Brian Walters was the best of the batsmen with 44.

Colts bowlers shared the wickets.

Colts passed RSL’s total with the loss of just three wickets in the 31st over.

Keiran Thompson top scored.

Warriors v Diggers played a a B Grade match on the Kingaroy State School oval.

Warriors batted first and  finished with 7/240 off their 40 overs.

Top scorer was Tony Jenkins (79) with handy knocks by Peter Sorensen (44 n/o) and Allen Christensen (41).

Best of the Diggers’ bowlers was Les Alexander who took 3/42 off eight  overs.  Ryan Summerfield took two wickets for 36 runs off his eight overs.

In reply, Diggers were all out for 109 in the 26th over.

Les Alexander finished with 37 runs, followed by Nathan Nixon (28) and Bryce Edwards (16).

Warriors’ bowlers shared the glory:  Tony Jenkins  3/17 off six overs; Troy Miller 3/5 off  three overs and Sitha Mead, 2/6 off two overs.

Warriors won by 131 runs.
