The Auburn-Burrandowan-Cadarga (ABC) branch of the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association (ICPA) will hold its annual general meeting on Saturday (November 9) at John and Jane McLaughlin’s property, ‘Mounefontein’, at Chahpingah.

The ICPA is a volunteer organisation which works for equitable access to education for all students who live in rural and remote Australia.

The ABC branch, which this year celebrated its 40th anniversary, covers a wide area, including the South Burnett, Jandowae, Warra, Chinchilla and the Monogorilby area.

The focus of the branch is to enable educational issues and challenges being faced by students of all ages to be raised at the appropriate level, whether that be local, State or national.

ICPA meets regularly with relevant Ministers, the Department of Education and other organisations working to improve rural education.

The AGM will start at 4:00pm and be followed by a barbecue.

Members are asked to RSVP to Jane McLaughlin on (07) 4164-8130.
