A bumper field of 97 contestants turned out at the Kingaroy Golf Course recently to take part in the Tarong Power Stations Annual Charity Open Golf Day.

The long-standing competition was sponsored by the Tarong and Tarong North power stations and their operator Stanwell Corporation, along with a number of local sponsors.

Earlybirds hit the greens at 7:00am, but to cater to numbers a second tee-off time of 10:30am was run as well.

In all, 67 prizes were up for grabs in the single stableford event.

A range of novelty events including pin shots, second shots and long drives were also held, and final winners were announced in the afternoon at the clubhouse.

In all, the event raised $2500, which was donated to the RACQ CareFlight Rescue Helicopter Service at the Hope Vale High Tea on October 19.
