Tanduringie State School teacher Vicki Gorton is one of just 17 Queensland teachers to have received a National Excellence in Teaching Award (NEiTA)

Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek today congratulated the Queensland winners who are among 60 teachers from Across Australia to win awards.

“I am very proud of all Queensland’s hardworking and inspiring teachers and these awards reward their efforts,” Mr Langbroek said.

“Teachers play a critical role in the lives of Queensland children by giving them the knowledge and skills needed to achieve success in their futures, and it’s important to acknowledge the positive difference they make to our lives.”

Now in their 20th year, the NEiTAs are Australia’s only national independent teaching awards that are voted for by parents and grandparents, school boards and councils, parent associations, committees of management, secondary school councils and community organisations.
