Fire crews were called to Shellytop Road near Durong about noon on Sunday today after a fire threatened three homes.
Rural brigades from Glencoe, Durong, Ballogie, Coverty, McEuen and Proston urban brigade successfully protected the buildings.
Backburning to contain the fire was completed about 7:30pm.
Ambulance paramedics treated one firefighter for smoke inhalation and heat stress.
Earlier, rural crews were also called to another incident at Lawson Road, Ballogie.
