A charity group which has been helping needy families in the Blackbutt and Benarkin areas needs a hand in the lead-up to Christmas.
“Helping Hands” is a sub-committee of St Anne’s Anglican Parish in Nanango but also works in co-operation with St Philip’s at Yarraman and St John’s at Blackbutt.
The group regularly distributes emergency assistance in the form of food and vouchers to families.
It is hoping to be able to give a Christmas hamper to each of the families it has assisted this year, complete with an age-suitable toy for each child.
Organiser Davina Holmes said donations of “Christmas hamper”-type food would be most gratefully received.
“Some people may be happy to give cash because they can see the common sense side of that as we can buy what we need, but any sort of help would be wonderful,” Davina said.
Davina can be contacted on 0409-271-308 or donations can be left at The Churchyard Shop at St Anne’s Church in Burnett Street, Nanango, between 8:00am and noon on Saturdays.
