Burnett Softball Association’s  “Batter Up” program tested the skills of some young would-be softballers at the Burnett Softball Grounds in Nanango on Saturday.

The young players practised catching, throwing and hitting in a number of skills development games that enabled them to enjoy a small taste of the sport.

The Burnett Softball summer season will begin on Saturday, October 19.

Children may be eligible for the State Government’s $150 voucher under the “Get Started” program.

Season fees are $50 (primary school students), $80 (secondary school) or $100 (all other participants).
