Kumbia members are very impressed with our new kitchen and are thankful to Jupiters Casino for making the funds available so we could do this renovation.
It is wonderful to be able to roll open a drawer with a finger tip instead of fighting with sticking sliding doors as previously.
We were quite successful with our entries at Division Finals Day bringing home several prizes in cookery, crochet and floral art.
Kumbia school children gained two first prizes for their colouring of international pictures and will now have their entries forwarded to State judging.
Kumbia members are again supporting the Division with Mollie Kratzmann continuing in the role of Division Secretary, Lil Haug as Cookery Convenor and Marian Mudra as Division Representative for Younger Sets.
The Division is holding a Training Day for office bearers on September 23 in the Murgon QCWA Rooms which all members are encouraged to attend.
Members will have entries in the Division handcraft display at Murgon which will be open to the general public on September 13. You are encouraged to go as there will be some very beautiful handcraft on display.
The branch is currently running a raffle of $200 IGA vouchers and we ask you to support us by buying a ticket or so if you can, please. It’s a well worth winning prize!
Handcraft days are held on the second Wednesday of the month and we invite any ladies from surrounding areas to come along and enjoy some fun company and perhaps improve your handcrafting skills.
On September 11, we plan to sew shopping bags and in October we will have a tutor to teach us how to sew chenille. All welcome.
