Motor sports have kept the RACQ CareFlight helicopter busy today with two medevacs from different ends of the South Burnett.
The Bundaberg-based helicopter airlifted a 50-year-old Bundaberg man from the Manar Park trail bike and motocross centre near Proston.
The man suffered a serious shoulder injury when he crashed his bike this morning.
The helicopter’s intensive care flight paramedic treated the man for a fracture and stabilised him at the scene before the helicopter airlifted him to Bundaberg Hospital for further treatment.
Also today, RACQ CareFlight’s Toowoomba crew was called to Motocross Mountain, near Cooyar, after a rider was badly injured in a fall.
A helicopter spokesman said the man suffered a broken femur after attempting a jump.
