Cyclists will have the opportunity to ride along part of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail – and compete for prizes – as part of next month’s Bloomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt Festival.

The ride is being organised by Sgt Michael Eadie, from the South Burnett PCYC, and has been dubbed the “Hillbilly Haul”.

On Saturday, September 7, the riders will travel along the trail towards Yarraman; on Sunday, September 8, they’ll head in the opposite direction, towards Linville.

“Bike riders will have the opportunity to go on a challenging ride, have some fun and potentially win some fantastic prizes,” Sgt Eadie said.

“The ride is supported by the PCYC and the South Burnett Regional Council. We have also had huge support from Crane Wines who have donated the main prize.”

Riders can win accommodation for two people at Crane Wines in Kingaroy, including continental breakfast, a bottle of wine, gourmet cheese platter and a barbecue pack.
