There’s nothing quite like swapping stories around a campfire at night …

Prep to Year 6 students at St Mary’s Catholic College in Kignaroy had the opportunity this evening to listen to some special campfire tales as part of Book Week.

As the students (in pyjamas and dressing gowns) huddled with their parents around an open fire, teachers took turns at reading stories.

The evning was organised by teacher / librarian at the school Mel Burr.

Teachers Marty Perrett, John Dalton, Pam Radcliffe and principal Michael Nayler also selected short stories to read to the children.

The evening concluded with milk and biscuits.

Other events that will be taking place at St Mary’s this week as part of Book Week include a “Book Parade” tomorrow morning.
