The South Burnett Saints led the way all day against the Demons

August 11, 2013

The South Burnett Saints notched up their third win of the Darling Downs AFL season on Saturday – and their second over the luckless Lockyer Valley.

The Saints were too strong in all departments, keeping the Demons to just one goal and one behind in the first quarter, while kicking seven themselves.

They powered on to lead at half-time 11.10 (76) to 3.5 (23).

Another eight goals to the Saints in the next phase nailed Lockyer Valley’s fate.

The full-time score was 23.25 (163) to 8.7 (55), with Brad Edwards booting home seven goals.

Other goal kickers for the South Burnett were Paul Pressnell 5, Adam Bowater 2, Ty Snow 2, Clinton Brown 2, Kyall Shepherd, Keiran Snow,  J. Comello, Dylan Bowater, Lucas Walsh and Jeffrey Trezise

Best players were Clinton Brown, Adam Bowater, Paul Judge, Lucas Walsh, Alexander Totton and Keiran Snow.

There’s just two more rounds of fixtures left in the 2013 competition.

Next weekend, the South Burnett side are scheduled to hit the road to play Goondiwindi.

Their last game, on August 27, will be against fellow competition newcomers Chinchilla, and is sure to be an exciting match.

The Saints downed the Chinchilla Suns by just one point when they met in Chinchilla during Round 9 earlier this year.
