The new Kingaroy Speedway branding which was unveiled today

July 30, 2013

The South Burnett Speedway Club today unveiled its program for the 2013-14 speedway season as well as the news that the Kingaroy Speedway now has a new naming rights sponsor.

Kingaroy Speedway and Lucas Oils have joined forces to announce a landmark three-year deal that will see the venue at the Kingaroy Showgrounds renamed the “Lucas Oil Kingaroy Speedway”.

Lucas will also has the option to the extend the deal for another three years.

“This deal is regarded as a major coup as Lucas Oils is arguably one of the world’s biggest motorsports sponsors,”  a club spokesman said.

“The club is poised for one of the most exciting times in its long history and to have support form one of the largest motorsport supporting companies in the world certainly will herald exciting times for the country venue.”

The spokesman said the Kingaroy venue had been transformed over the past few years into one that is highly ranked in Australian speedway.

Club president Ashley Barron and Lucas Oils Australia managing director Jeff Pahlke said the deal was an investment into grass roots racing which is where the future was created.

“It is exciting to be involved with Kingaroy Speedway as the passion and commitment to speedway that this club has shown is right where Lucas Oils wants to put its support well into the future,” Mr Pahlke said.

“But this is not just a one-way street as the club has committed to actively promote and market our product to the racing fraternity and its supporters and the public alike.”

Mr Barron said to have a big multinational company like Lucas Oils join the club as naming right sponsor was “huge”.

“It give us an indication that we are definitely heading in the right direction with what we are doing with regards to the shows we are putting on and the value for money we feel that we are giving to the fans each and every night we run a race meeting,” he said.

The partnership between the two organisations will mean the Kingaroy Speedway will also actively promote, sell and distribute Lucas Oils products through its network of club members and competitors.

Visiting competitors will be able to pre-purchase products and then pick them up from the venue on race nights.

“This can only lead to a win/win situation for both Lucas Oils, club members, competitors and speedway in general,” Mr Barron said.
