“Christmas in July” was a good excuse for staff members from the three Catholic schools in the South Burnett to come together on Saturday night to enjoy some festive cheer.

This is the second year that St Mary’s Catholic College in Kingaroy has hosted a Christmas In July dinner for staff members in the school’s Maryknoll Centre.

But this year as well as local staff members, teachers from St Joseph’s Murgon and St Patrick’s Nanango also joined in, as well as representatives from Catholic Education in Brisbane.

The staff members enjoyed a pig-on-the-spit cooked on site as well as all the Christmas trimmings and live entertainment.

The darkened school hall was adorned with Christmas lights and decorations, all carefully erected by teacher Mark Richard and a team of helpers.

The evening is designed to be a bonding and morale building event for the staff.
