Durong Green Frogs Girls Guides are holding a Family Fund Day this Sunday (July 21) at Durong Community Hall in aid of the Lindsay family who lost all their belongings in a house fire in May this year.

The day starts at 11:00am and includes outdoor novelty games, tennis, face painting, demonstrations from Queensland Fire and Rescue and Li’l Squirt with rides for the kids.

There will also be raffles and a lucky door prize.

Snacks and drinks will be available during the day and there will be a pig on the spit for lunch ($10 per person or $35 per family).

Chantelle from CROW-FM will be there with her family and will have some giveaways as well as doing live on air crosses.

Durong Girl Guides and the local community have replaced many of the family’s belongings but funds from this day will really help them back on their feet.

It is also an opportunity for the Girl Guides to earn their Community Service badges.

Durong South State School P&C and Queensland Fire and Rescue Service and the Durong community in general have been instrumental in getting this event off the ground.
