Kilkivan’s main street will be getting a $220,000 makeover courtesy of Gympie Regional Council and the State Government’s Local Government Grants and Subsidies Program.

Deputy Premier and Member for Callide Jeff Seeney announced this week that the State Government would be contributing $63,000 to a $157,000 project to improve Bligh Street.

The money will be used to design and construct streetscaping.

“(Gympie) Council has put forward several projects that are important to our region, and we’ve stretched every dollar to give maximum value for money,” Mr Seeney said.

Other local towns to get funding under the program include Nanango and Wondai.
