A group of six Year 11 and Year 12 chemistry students from St Mary’s Catholic College in Kingaroy have proved they can mix it with the best in a competition in Brisbane.

The students took part in the recent Royal Australian Chemical Institute titration competition held at the University of Queensland in Brisbane.

The students competed against 45 schools – both State and private – from across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and the Sunshine Coast.

The top 13 teams were ranked in the “excellent” category and are eligible to compete in finals in October.

“The Year 11 team came sixth place in these rankings, a great result given the intense competition. Congratulations to both teams,” principal Mr Michael Nayler said.
